Spring 2012 Le HOG Roast...

Riding the harley to get an mot earlier in the week i noticed my add on battery/alternator warning light was on red, with the occasional green flash (( my harley doesn't have a alternator/ignition light, you're just left to guess what's happening with the electric system, so i've added a small warning diode that alerts me to any problems) .

Anyway, with le hog coming up i thought this is going to be a pain in the arse, so i set about checking it (my bike, not my arse) yesterday.

With thoughts of a new alternator or rectifier having to be bought and fitted in my ever reducing spare time available before departure it was a pleasant surprise to find the small plug that connects the rectifier wiring to the loom was not fully home. :beerjug:
So, less than two minutes from start of job to finish and not a penny spent. That doesn't happen very often :D

Phew that's a relief then :thumb2

This used to be a common problem and you could buy little spring clips that mounted under the adjacent bolt and held the plug in place.

Gutted to be missing this, especially as circumstances have changed:blast

A safe journey to all & hope to be able to do this in the future..:thumb

Next Weekend..

Just to remind the Bed Dwellers to bring a sleeping bag and pillow case.

Campers, if the weather is shite you can switch to a bed no worries.... your choice.

i have loads of pillows/duvets etc.... but TBH cannot be arsed to have to make the beds and sort all the washing out Sunday!

So, a Sleeping bag on the bed and your own Pillow case will minimise the hassle... Ta.

We number 6 with one 50/50 so a possible 7.... TBH this is a comfortable number as the house is set up to sleep 6 comfortably (Ish) and we will have enough chairs/plates/glasses etc.......

The house has been cleared over the winter as the builders have been in.... guess what its not fully decorated... but i am assured all the key services work!!!..... guess we shall soon find out.

Regarding next Thursday?? i live ten minutes from the ferry terminal.... near the A3/A27 intersection in Havant.... do you want to meet at mine for a pee etc then ride down to the ferry together?? or do you want to sort yourselves out ref the ferry and meet in the bar??

let me know and we can organise......happy either way!

Hi Twizzle, Personally I think I'll meet you all on the dockside. I have work to do Thursday so I may be pushed for time. Looking forward to it.

Probably easier that way..... See you at the Ferry Port / on the boat!!

Sadly (for me) I have to bale out of this because:-

a). on June 1st I'll be starting a relatively long ride with Rob Farmer...

b). for various tedious reasons, I'm skint... :blast

So, a heartfelt 'Bon Voyage' to all who are going, have a fantastic time! :thumb2

Thanks David, enjoy the "airhead" trip........ don't forget the ride report...

So, we are now six confirmed Gentlemen...... Sophisticated, men with fine machines and tastes embarking on a voyage of discovery to foreign lands.... We shall experience new sites and smells; revel in the joy of being on the road, indeed we shall explore an alien culture and enjoy a general bonhomie!!.......
Or, we shall be six fat blokes drinking more than they can handle whilst talking shite to each other.....................
Also, could someone bring a range of AF Spanners, as TBH I’m not certain i can ride that far without something falling off........

That's a shame David, we'll miss you :tears but enjoy your trip in June, sounds like you can't miss that :beer jug:

Twizzle, I've got AF spanners :thumb2

And I don't think I'm fat and I'm determined not to drink too much:augie
Not sure I can avoid talking shite though.....

Again thanks to all.... despite the weather, unfinished house, muddy roads, snoring,..... oh, and apoligies to Steptoe for thinking it funny to spin the back wheel up in the mud on the glide whilst leaving the rally !!! giving his HD a nice patina of french soil!!! :D
