Took the Rallye in for it's 6K service on Tuesday and had about 4 hours to kill, and so I asked the salesman for the keys to one of the LC demonstrators parked outside. And now I want one, I'm not one for changing bikes for the sake of it, My last GS I bought in 2004 and I kept it until last June, I'm shocked at how refined it is and so today I've spent an hour on the phone with the salesman and have ironed out a deal which suits me, the only disappointing thing is the hit on the new Rallye, and so I'm suffering, and I need to come to a decision over the weekend whether to chop the Rallye or keep it, I really like the Rallye but the overall performance of the new GS is stunning, even if the present colours available don't quite rock my boat I think I want one. And so if any ones looking for a fully loaded Rallye with quite a few extras bolted on, get in touch it might help me make my mind up

Yeh I love the performance of the new bike. Dont like the engine rattles though. And thats the one big reason why I wont buy one at this point.

Going for a GSa old vintage and keeping my KLV for hooligan days. Which the new GS copies well. Ironic giving the price difference.

3000 miles now on my LC and it continues to impress me. But don't test one with the Akrapovic can or you will find another £700 on your invoice.

Why not hold on til you see colours you like?

I def wasn't turned on by the colours either so am happy to wait til next year.

Try and haggle for more on your px take the extras off and sell them on here, I had my triple black GS 14 months then changed due to a test ride while my bike was having a service, I got 10.5 k as a px and a free first service +10 % off any extras so I was happy, good luck!

Bodywork panels come off really easily. Would not cost that much to have it painted. Then the colour will rock your boat!!!

The difference between the TC and the LC is stunning.

keep the Rallye. Crazy to take a big hit on a bike you've only owned for 10 minutes. Just be patient and buy a LC next year / or the year after when they've improved the gearbox and changed the colours. Accessories along with decent tyres will be available then and you'll be able to negotiate a far better deal , including free panniers etc.

What's wrong with your current bike :nenau

If performance is the big thing in changing to the new toilet, why did any of you buy a hexhead to start with ?

+1

I'd wait until the Beta testing has been completed, the WC is bound to have some mods this year and next years will be even better

Keep the Rallye, why take a hit so soon

Will the WC do anything that yours can't and after 2 weeks the extra speed will be a novelty that has worn off

But, he''ll still take a painful hit in the knackers, with at least £4k to swap

If he can swallow at least a £2k hit on his Rallye, fine go for it

If not, keep the Rallye

Life's too short to ride one bike while dreaming of another - if you can raise the cash just take the hit and move on.

even if the present colours available don't quite rock my boat

A number of dealers will respray the tank cover and front mudguard any colour you fancy, especially if it is one of the ones BMW use on their cars.
Ocean in Plymouth and I think Rainbow do this on request. I saw an Estoril Blue one in Ocean the other week and it was really nice. Ocean are also Carbon wrapping one in their showroom at the moment waiting for Stevie to come back ashore.
You are a fair way from Plymouth but Richard or Ian would sort this out for you in a jiffy.
Don't let the standard colour choice put you off owning one of these bikes, they're a big step forwards, especially if you enjoyed the engine performance.

Life's too short to waste time, just do it.

If its just a bit of extra ooomph you need, take the Rallye to Hilltop for a remap. My Classic '08 is putting out 107bhp at the rear wheel now which can't be far off a standard LC. (OK its got a Remus/Akra combo as well.) :D:D:D

Maybe he can afford it, and just wants one, We are a long time dead.....:beerjug:
