Fuel Pump

Was heading out on Sunday for a run, stopped at the bank for some pennies got back on and the f'in thing would not start! No noise from the fuel pump.
Called the RAC who got the bike back to John Clarks.
The bike is 2005 and out of warranty by 6weeks.
Talked to Clarks today and hopefully I'll get this sorted through warranty.
Question is ????? Is this a common fault with the fuel pump on GS's?
Has anyone had this happen to them?

fuel pump thingy went on mine.

Bloke from BMW assist had a load of spare ones in the back of his car, which tells you something.
along with his anecdotes as to how-many-of-these-have-I-been-called-out-to-stories.

Sorry wrong section :blast

Looks as if its a common fault, spoke with John Clarks and was told that it would be fixed through warranty, so not to bad.
The run on Sunday was a bit damp in parts was told ? Still pissed off I missed it.
Thanks for the positive words Smirky, (FJR maybe).
