When the brake light comes on on my GSA it is the same intensity as the tail light, just another row of LEDs lights up.
It's not exactly attention grabbing and if the following person isn't actually looking at the light when it initially goes on it's not particularly obvious that you are braking until they rapidly catch you up.
A few people have mentioned it to me now.

Can you tell me if this is the same on all 08 bikes or is mine faulty?:nenau

Cheers. :)

Not got the GSA but my 2 week old F650 twin has the LED brake / tail lights and there is a very noticeable difference between the two.,

:nenau it's fekkin sheite ! as you know with me having moaned at you several times...
for a super dooper carlos fandango light it's crap..yer Missuss ER brake light is wayyy better...
but then you knew that didn't you ?;)

1200's

can't stay behind, get sick of being in third gear all the time.

My mate has an 08 GS and in the dark, you can see the brake light no problem but in daylight and especially in bright sunlight, the brake light is crap. It so bad I noticed it straight away, something I'd never noticed on older GSs. The new lamp looks way cooler but I think its a case of form over function. So, I don't think its yor bike, they're all the same.

I have to agree here. When my wife has followed she has commented on how poor the brake light is. :(

Cheers guys.
At least I know it isn't a fault, even if it is more than a tad dodgy.

Unfortunately looking at the Road Vehicles Lighting Regs it seems that whilst the Stop light must have a 15-36w output there is no requirement for the output of a Tail light, so legally they can be the same intensity.:blast

When lights on normally, one (top) row of L.E.D.s are lit. Tis true, when press brake two more rows of L.E.D.s come on but they don't seem any brighter than the normal ones, just more ov em ! wish i hadn't looked now. :blast

if it's not off topic, a m8 of mine has a set up like this, when he brakes you get the brake light come on, but also you get a light come on inside the rear indicators, so you get all 3 light up when you brake, and it's bloody bright.

i got 2 l e ds in each indicator , wich work wi the brakes, very very effective
an easy and cheap safety aid,
