Hi, I was browsing the forum to get an aswer for the ultimate question - which can for 1200 GSA 08? Since I transfered from a 996 with terminoni cans and I would like to somehow enhance the poor sound of the beemer...

...I like the ZARD cone and its sound but I found also a MIVV Suono which sounds also nicely and the price is somwhat 100 pounds lower... :thumb

...has anyone seen, heard, driven one of these? Any opinion? :nenau

Both looks awsome, it is realy hard to choose:

Zard of Mivv?

Sounds like an extra from Star Wars, left on the cutting room floor.

I am not sure about both exhaust you have mentioned - i run a Bos full system with removable baffles. Great system which gives you better pick up and also better sound - I run with the baffles in as i find this gives the best sound ( too loud if run without) over longer distances. (baffles out if short trips)

That's a really good idea and must cost next to nowt. Why don't more exhaust companies do something similar?

Because even with the best recording possible, you can't come even close to representing what it sounds like using the average PC user's speaker system.

Even with a decent 7 channel surround sound setup and a big subwoofer here, that above clip sounds crap to me.......yet music sounds good and I have a fair bit of bass turned in.

I think It'd do them more harm than good putting the sounds on the web....the only way of appreciating a nice exhaust sound is up close and personal, actually there IMO

This is true to a point, but is more to do with the method of recording than the playback system, but it does serve to give an idea of the sound. I would much prefer to watch a few videos to get an idea for free than shell out 300 quid to find out.

And how would you know what quality of recording equipment each manufacturer used to record the clip? You could then end up buying a system based on the quality of recording equipement rather than the quality of sound produced by the exhuast.

Life is full of choices :comfort

That is my point exactly - since everything is not under one roof and in the riding distance how can you possibly decide?

BTW here is more:

BOS

Zard

Of course you can not rely on the poor recording, but so far i like the Zard best....I give it some more time to decide... :drool

I also do not like the classic looks of the BOS and LEOVINCE i do not why but it fits not the bike... :(

Any other opinion and experience is welcome.

Thanks for the comment, I'm looking for the can just now for better sound and to flatten the 4500-5000 drop...Since the bike is 2008 adv and still under warrnaty i do not what to go for the full sytstem - but i think it will folow... :thumb

Exhausts are like helmets, jackets, tyres.... everyone has their favourites. Some bods even like retaining the original can...

For sure, Two Brothers make good exhausts, just as BuMW and the Zard of Miv do. Why not just buy one and come back to tell us what you think of it?

The way has been shown by chummy with his Blue Flame film clip. OK, it's a bit on the shonky side and the hanger looks like a lash up from the Meccano box, but he's a happy camper just the same.

maybe you are right, but I'm quite new to the GS world (previously a ducati rider), so I just looking for some opinions. What is good on ducati might not be good on BMW. Of course i will post my experience after I decide...

P.S. silencer can not be easily tried out like jacket or helmet :(
maybe it can but than again I'm not rich enough :( :(

Ok

If it is of any help at all.

I have a Remus can on my '06 1200GSA, with Remus headers. I am very happy with it and the headers. Lots of other bods do, too. Whether it is any better than a Two Brothers can (they are good as a friend has one on his RC45 track bike) it is hard to tell.

Akropovic are also popular with UKGSers, too. Though one bod had a problem with the carbon one he chose collapsing... so you can never be too sure.

Thanks! I have carbons cans on the 996, but for sure I will not buy carbon can for the beemer.

Remus would be an "wise" decision, since touratech sells them too...

According the information I have the modified headers are the best choice for power gain, but I need to leave some power upgardes for later :D

further more I have found this for anyone who is interested in the MIVV:
