We (J ,Sean and myself. 2 1200gsa and 1 660 Yam Tenere) went to the Elefant rally this year.
J arrived at my place on Wednesday evening from Wales and we then met Sean at the tunnel. Our first day brought us to Mainz (around 450miles) where we stayed at the Youth Hostel.Friday we went down to Loh,only another 300 odd miles. But what a ugly ride through the Spessart mountains it was, doing 30mph on the motorway in a snowstorm.
We parked right on top of the "path" and dragged our gear down

Would i do it again???Ask me in a few month when i am defrosted

Great, it was a teenage dream of mine to do the rally.
How the feck do you ride a big bike in snow, i got caught in the snow last xmas riding down to Marbella on the GT impossible.

Great stuff.....thanks for that ! :thumb2

The Elefant`s been on my 'to do' list for some years and I really must get around to doing it.

Great photos,by the way.....especially the night time ones. :beerjug:

A real achievement:thumb

Out of interest, which bike was reckoned best for the trip, the GSA or Ten?

Well i am a bit biased here as i love my Panzer:D
but i think if you do long distance like that the GSA is better. We had to sit at 75-80mph all the way cause otherwise Sean would have lost all his teeth on the thumper:D
Of course once in the deep snow its a different story but saying that i seen GSA's at the campsite. Its just i do not have this riding ability
Guess whatever bike you like most you take and have fun;)

yes well done indeed you 3:bow:bow:bow
like many its on my to do list . im thinking van all the way then get the loaded up trail bike out for the last 5 miles:augie:D is that allowed:D
is that the mother of all biking cookers on your GSA's panniers:thumb im liking that:D

Yep my BBQ:D
but it died a glorious death. The heat from the fire was so hot the hinges fell off so i came home with 1/2 a BBQ:D:D

my greatest creation died a death:( we shall make another:D:D:D

good pics those pete:beerjug: so are you up for it next year...it done me in not making it and the pics make it worse:blast

you three are hard core:bow

Hey LV !

I've always fancied the Elephant Rally, I'll probably never make it there, but it's good to see that you made it there and back on my old GS.
In fact, I feel a bit of a phoney now, it snowed in Edinburgh this morning, all of 1cm. I wimped out of the morning commute and took the bus.
Great Pics,

Hope you are well,

Pedro.

Great stuff, I'm sure it'll be remembered as great fun in a few warm months:D

:clap :clap :clap :clap :bow :bow :bow :bow

as other's have said- on my list.
but until global warming kicks in,it's far too cold for me.
thanks for sharing that with us.:beerjug:
