Take note of the meaning of IPX7
If you think your GPS is OK in the rain then read this on BMWSportTouring.com
I misinterpreted the spec and have let my 2610 take a beating in the rain. No more.

That's a bit worrying however I have used my GPS V in all kinds of rain and wind and snow over the past 2 years and it's still OK ....however I haven't tried it under 1 meter of water ....yet

Interestingly enough dive camera boxes which are good for 40 Meters are also supplied with a notice informing the user that they should be very carefull cleaning the boxes with running water as it could get through the seals.
Pressure and jet pressure are not the same thing. Your average dive bag good for 3 meters with a camera will of course go deeper. The camera won't work coz its under too much pressure. But it won't flood; (hopefully)
