fuel leaking

Is there a problem with petrole leaking out from the top of the tank where the fuel lines are this is only hapning when the bike has a full tank?

Never noticed any leakages, nor is it mentioned as a common problem on the 650 specific sites.

The 3" diameter access on top of the tank has been known to leak. Check it's done up tight!

Or try smearing the rubber ring with petroleum jelly and retightening.

Yep ... happened to me too, some years ago not long after a *bumpy* ride. Like Paul says, it's probably the large diameter 'toothed' ring cap on top of the tank, just worked slightly loose. I just wrapped an old cloth over it and tightened it the best I could by hand.

No problems thereafter.
