Some of you noticed that I was having troubles with Geronimo at Llangollen. The problem was worst on the way back till the engine died entirely somewere on the A4. Luckily, no far from an excellent Cofee and restaurant. So we sat there and waited for the AA. Seems that the engine is starving for fuel. Any suggestions on what to check before starting a complete dismantling ? Any help apreciated, Yosi:confused:

I had a fuel starvation problem caused (and this is where I get technical) by a bit of dirt that basically got into the throttle housing just above the cylinder head on the right hand side, stoping the metal nipple from going all the way in (sorry- I did warn you I was going to get technical). Basically the bike wouldn't idle at all, and when opening the throttle lurched violently as if getting fuel/not getting fuel (kinda like the 3000 rpm surging but 100 times worse) and firing on only the one cylinder at times as well.

There is a black plastic sleeve over the cable that ends inside a small metal (silver)knurked ring. I just pulled the sleeve all the way up (about 1cm) so it cleared the top of the silver thingy and just poked the bit of stone out with a bit of wire. If you just pull up on both sides, it should give you an idea how far they go in. If the same, then you are probably ok, but if one goes back in about 1cm, and the other hardly at all (which is what was happening to mine) then you have to start looking for something that is stopping it.
