Gopro V Sony etc

Does anyone have the new sony action cam, and have you compared it to the gopro. ?

Im confused about which cam to settle with, i like the look of the sony and drift, but the gopro seems to be everyones favorate. i could use some good advice on this matter.

Idealy i want to mount it direct to the bike. for my morocco trip in 5 week.

I use a GoPro Hero 2 and I'm very pleased with it.

With a 32gb card I can get about 4 hours of video on it and the batteries last for about 2 hrs each.

The video below was taken this last weekend in Wales and the camera is mounted on the beak.

This video is only 480 and not HD

Looked into getting the Sony for the image stabilisation and a few other things that make it superior to the GoPro,But after reading some reviews they are still having a few issues with it. I had the GoPro HD and upgraded to the HD2 and am very happy with it.
The reason i upgraded to a 2 was that i damaged the lens on the original, Contacted Gopro who insisted that they couldn't do replacement lenses as they were glued in, Found a company called rage cams who sold the lenses and was very easy to replace.
I dont think the price difference between the original, 2 or 3 are worth the money and personally would try and find the original one for around £100 .
A 16gb card will last two and a half hours which is what the battery will hold running at 720p

MissB bought it for me for Christmas, I'm very pleased with it.

I have a hero and a hero 3 black. Love them both. Type thecjm180 into youtube for some videos i made.

Not too sure about the sony, but the only thing i would say is do some research on editing software. Its no good shooting video if you cant edit it and turn it into a decent film.

I just bought final cut pro 10.8 to do this job. The editing side takes alot of learning.

My latest video was of my mates stag do. i shot 45 mins of video canyoning. it took me 6 hours to edit it down to 4 ish minutes.
