Has anyone dumped the end can, put on a stubby.
All that free space around the pannier carried a camera Tripod?

for about 5 minutes, the stubby has spent the rest of its life in the cupboard. The remus Y and stubby combo is a no goer.... :augie

Stubbies seem perfect for bikes with a cat.

My tripods are all small enough for the pannier top boxes and I carry much larger bits on the bike instead. A alu cup on the right hand pillion footrest frame and a few cable-ties makes a perfect mounting point for my amateur radio antennas when Im out operating /P in contest, a bungee around the topbox secures them perfectly and additional piece of mind is gained with the side panniers are on too. Ill upload a photo if that helps. Although you would need to be carrying the mother of all tripods to need a mounting solution as big as that.

Yes I would like to see. The tripod is to big to go on top of seat.

I regularly strap a big pelicase camera bag on the GS and the manfrotto just sticks out beyond the back. You could tie a red rag on it if you like;)
