Engine Bib

Ricky, give us a clue, what's an engine bib.I guess it stops the engine dribbling oil all down it's front.

It's one of these, Vern. Bit difficult to see in the pic, but it's basically a perspex sheet that stops the front of the engine getting covered in sh1te...

I can hear the next question forming in everyone's minds.......

What stops the bib getting covered in shite, and engine bib bib?
;) :p

Granted, it will stop that unsightly pitting of the front engine case, but the bib will look a lot more unsightly with muck all over it and it will get scratched/pitted itself. Not for me, I'm afraid.

A fender extender does a good job of keeping a lot of crap of the front.

I've not got one (that picture's off Aeroflow's site), but I think it just fits on some clear plastic nobbly velcro type things stuck to the front of the engine (the kind of thing that holds persex lamp guards on).

MikeO:)

ps I do seem to remember someone on the BB having one of these....

I just let the front cover get all manky and pitted, then scrapped the worst of it off,and painted it with hammerite silver. You'd never know it's been painted.Don't tell me I'm the only one to dicover that hammerite silver is a bang on match with the silver the engines are done in:D

Cheers Vern, good info for future. :)

Sorry Ricky, I didn't mean to sound facetious. I did look into these a year or so back but figured that they looked a bit silly.

I fitted an extention piece to to my mudguard. That didn't work:(

So I had a mate weld an extention to the sump guard. That worked;)

With both an extended mudguard and sumpguard most of the crap is kept off.

Correct mike.I have got the lamp guard and the bib fits on with the same type of fixing.

Aeroflow Engine Bib Thingy

Actually I have one installed and am quite happy...it along with the Extenda Fender bit keep the muck and rocks under control...Might be a bit of overkill for anyone that doesn't dry on dirt full time but, here in the good 'ole mountains in Colorado it's necessary or I have potholes sprouting on the engine from all of the rocks and gravel - 20 + miles of dirt road everyday have a way of doing that...Just my 2 cents...
