Hi folks......

From personal experience, it's hard for me to imagine a bike dealer exceeding my expectations.....but once again Motorrad Central in Glasgow have done so, in spades.........

As most of you will know my 4 month old 1200GS was stolen overnight Sunday/Monday from my garage in Edinburgh.........

After the dust settled and the police departed, I was left to ponder over another bike-less holiday in just 10 days time and a considerable wait of several weeks if not months for a replacement to arrive......which would mean a new bike arriving in the depths of a Scottish winter......bollox........

MC's dealer principal, John Dillon, took the trouble, on his day off, to contact me with the consoling news that he had not one, but two new R1200GS on the premises........RESULT!!!!

Wandered over there today, did the business & also ordered a shed (garage?) load of replacement accessories as well.......all of which will be delivered to Chez Dutch on Friday........(Scummies Note:Razor wire, machine gun posts, land mines & a few other goodies await ANY of you fekkers who try and steal from me again.........:mcgun

Prepare to be amazed folks, our spare set of GS panels are already at the paint shop being finished in yet another uniquely stunning colour scheme, and accessory suppliers the world over are busy shipping replacements for all my toys.......

All things being equal, my 4th 1200GS in 16 months will be ready to roll next week.........just in time for our six day trip to Normandy.......

Thanks John, and Russ, and Clive and Tracey, and Blair and Jenny and all those fine folk at Bennetts Insurance for going the extra mile to get me back on two wheels in double quick time!!

Cheers

They have done me proud on a couple of occasions, kept me on the road.
Top lot.

I'll 3rd that. The finest dealership bar none I have ever had the pleasure to deal with in nearly 30 years of biking. Top bunch.

Gald you got sorted out Dutch.

Any contact details & address? it doesn`t seem to be on the GPS download of BM dealers :(

Reading your comments with interest, went to Central a couple of months ago to order a new GS. I found the sales man to have a take it or leave it attitude regarding the deal he offered, so I left it and got an extra £700 for my px from John Clark Tayside who gave me a demo for a fortnight until my bike arrived.
Only previous experience was having my previous bike MOT'd at Central, certainly the service guys seemed very decent.
What are the general experiences with servicing? would probably give them a try for that.
May have just been a bad day when I spoke with sales, certainly plenty of people out there slate John Clark sales.

No joy Dutch

You have my deepest sympathies - thieving scum should have their knackers chopped off!

Glad you've got a new bike try to not to "lose" this one !!!- you must have the world record for number of 1200GSs owned!

Hi Dutchman

Bad luck about the missing GS

I just hope any forum members or visitors, have the decency to turn down any cheap 1200gs parts offered to them! We have, as a significant proportion of GS owners, the ability to reduce the market for stolen parts, just by refusing then reporting dodgy parts offered! :mcgun
