So after buying my 2008 Hexhead R1200GS earlier this year, it is due it's first service (from me). I have done the oil/filter/plugs/gearbox oil/final drive oil and greased the splines on the shaft. I also did a valve check, so removed the rocker covers. They look in good order and the seals...

So the fuel cap on my GSA, well the ring, had some surface corrosion. It bugs me so I bought another used fuel cap (from an 1150) and replaced it. All good, you can replace the barrel easily. I would not say how long it took me to figure out how to "reset" the spring that brings back the key in...

Doing the annual service on the bike; drained out the final drive oil and removed the filler plug to let it all drain freely. Just spinning the brake disc assembly... is this noise 'normal' or is it indicative of bearing problems inside the FD? Bike is 2008 GSA with 48k miles. Serviced regularly...

Hi, After a few diversions I've come back into the boxer fold with a 2010 R1200GS. I intend to do as much of my own maintenance as possible, and being new to this forum could somebody please point me to a good source of "how to's" and handbooks? Thanks in advance. Regards.
