r1100rt geaer changing

Good afternoon all, Looking for some advice, and probably someone to have a look at my 1999 R1100RT In essence, there is a bit of a clunk when changing in to gear from the off (when riding all gear changing up and down is smooth) plus, I cannot actually get it in to 1st gear, or when it does...
