Plenty of comments on previous threads about excessive rear pad wear. My first set were changed by BMW at the 6000 service. The second set went on to 20000 miles and were almost finished. The BMW pads are very expensive so after seeing a set on Ebay for £6.45 (incl delivery) decided to give them a test. 1000 miles later and I have not noticed any difference wet or dry, the ABS works ok and they generate enough force to activate the ABS if you try hard, no massive amount of brake dust over the rear wheel etc and no sign of the pad material lifting of the backing plate. Overall I'm quite impressed, I may not fit them to the front but have no worries about fitting them to the rear.

I bought them from Cardiff motorcycles via E-Bay.

Brakes are for wimps:D

Amazes me that someone can spend £15,000 ish on a motorcycle and look for Cheap pads

I will NEVER fit anything less than Ferodo or Mintex Sourced from a known supplier

and if they ever come in saying made in Chine they get returned End Of Story

£6 pads, you gotta be joking. Just how much money are you gonna save yourself over a year compared to decent branded pads, 5 or 6 pints?

The one time you really need them you need to really rely on them :blast

Returning your Apple producs, or any TV set or computer, probably not yet its 95% certain to have been made in China. Look on the ABS module of your BMW, again probably made in China? along with all the sensors and wiring looms. I bought them as an emergancy pair I can keep in the garage but my old ones wore out before my new pads arrived,so in they went and I can confirm 100% they are as good as anything I have fitted before.
I did not save 5 or 6 pints on the cost, the Ferodo FDB2006P rear pads are only £16.32 Inc VAT from Motoworks.

Moan at a man for being frugal and honest and then he gets the abuse... Funny how the moaning is absent with the cheeky offers in the FS and W section...

I've been using Goldfren for years.

Back and front.
They are shit cheap, work well and wear well.
Fools and their money are easily parted.

Remember the amazing quality magical bmw pads fitted to the wc that wore out with a few hundred miles? Yes they were good weren't they...
Got EBC rears for 11 quid with a friend on here.
Also people can get the same BMW magical equivalent pads from eBay or brembo direct for half the price (read that as same spec but not stupidly priced for a BMW receipt).

Chinese quality (view from someone who has actually been in their factories)

I have the misfortune of having to travel over to China reasonably regularly to specify / purchase machinery. The top 10% of manufacturers are comparable with European standards (Apple etc) they use European production machinery / techniques & quality procedures. HOWEVER the remaining companies produce what can only be described as SHITE! I have seen it first hand - you would not believe how they produce! Anything goes if someone is daft enough to put price before quality & buy their products On a £15k plus machine, I would purchase only genuine branded safety components - they may possibly originate from China, but if they do they should be fully quality audited & be OK

As Titto has already said, some of the original genuine pads on early bikes were only lasting 5 minutes and were being replaced by the dealer for free..:augie
