Just the bluetooth element costs that much in most helmets
You generally get what you pay for.
It seems odd that quite a few of us will fork out the best part of £10k for a bike but are happy to risk our unreplacable skulls in something costing just 1% of that !
or spend 2% on the helmet, and another 2% on the intercom/ bluetooth devices?
Just because a helmet costs hundred quid, does it make a £200 helmet twice as good? then another 200 for the bits? so thats £400 for helmet thats as good as a 100 helmet with all the bits.
Sharps test? ACU? Snell? they all come to some standard, and to be honest, the only time the helmets called upon, whos to say what any make helmet will do in a unpredicted impact?
There are other factors though, wind noise in a cheaper helmet is bad, the overall feel is cheaper, but im not sure the safety thing counts any longer?
oh, i have BMW helmet, and wouldnt change it, so maybe i am talking sh8t
