f800gs

Now clock up 2600 on one. 1800 through France Pyrennees and northern Spain. The rest communiting in to London.

The long trip was split in 2 the first half fully laiden but no missus, she joined in Bordeaux. Fortunately I had already anticipated problems with buffeting and bought the screen extendor from Touratech. Still pretty heavy buffeting at speeds over 60mph. Clocked 90 on the autoroute found it all fine, however it was a very still day.

No sure whether it's me but I do find it a bit light on the front almost as if there is not enough rubber on the road.

When fully laded with pillion and strong cross wind on Dartmoor on the way back from Plymouth, I found the front wheel very light as if it was almost losssing grip. No she's not that heavy - mere 8.5stone.

That said we have both bonded and love the bike, apartr from the indicator cancel function which is a pain in heavy town traffic.

whilst i've not had the bike 2 up i have toured and it does it really well no issues about comfort its good and i have done 850 odd miles in a day only stopping for fuel and eurotunnel day and night.

and i have done the twisty bits too.
autoroute comfortable cruising speed for me was 120 -125 kmh ish and the sat nav said it went 199kmh.

never had light front end issues felt really planted, and i had some really wet miles too.

its a really capable bike just get out there and do it.

Interesting where it says after 80 miles the fuel tank showed still more than half full. Same old problems as with the F800 GS then. Mine shows full until about 50 km left in the tank. Then shows nothing left.

800GS in TBM

Latest TBM magazine has a road and trail test of the 800. Riding the lanes and trails of the Peak District.

Their bike broke down, but mostly positive comments.:D

Key wouldn't turn in the ignition. Had to "hot wire" it.

Anyone else had this problem?

Hmm Load of Bollix cos if the key isn't inside the ring then it won't go! EWS
You CAN'T hotwire one of these

Broke the ignition lock more of a possibility Who knows with the perfomance bike jockeys these days

They had to leave the key in the ignition to disable the EWS, but then hot wire it.
