Hi all
Can anyone help with a problem I have with my 05 twin spark Dakar.
For some strange reason the clocks will not display the mileage. All it displays is _ _ _ _ _ :nenau however the tripometer still works but resets to 0 when ignition's turned off/on.
many thanks in advance for any reply's to this thread :thumby:
Best regards Ronnie :beerjug:

Apparently the instrument panel can be quite sensetive to any volts drop and a slight build up in resistance at the battery, however small, can cause all sorts of strange goings on.

Therefore it's worthwhile giving the disconnecting the battery terminals and giving them and the connecting leads a good clean; i.e. wire brush them. I had similar a couple of years ago (what you've got plus no tach or odometer) and was ready to replace the instrument unit until I tried the above as a last gasp effort. Worked a treat for me :thumb

I've had this a few times and I'm pretty sure the battery is the culprit.
