After a dose of financial realism from the iron chancellor (Wife) once I get my bikes sold. Gsx1400 and an old Exup if anybody's interested?.
I reckon funds will allow a 06/07 Gsa I think I will have about £7500 I was wondering what that sort of money will get me?
I have read about crappy servo brakes and am wondering what else to look out for? Any help or advice gratefully received.

Regards Farmhand.

Try and buy the newest one...with bmw warranty

Mine an 06 GSA paid 6000 ish it only had 9000 miles when i got it.
second user
so i've had gone wrong
1/ Spilt gaiter between gearbox and swing-arm, the first owner didnt even know about it.water had half filled the swing-arm this was found out on service.I repaired this.
2/another split gaiter this time no water but was my own fault(i used second hand part from motoworks)
3/Rear suspension went in the middle of the french alps last year
4/rear brake disc wapped leaving the alps on the Italian side

i've only had the bike a year but love ever minute of it:bounce1:clap

That's easy ..... get yourself an early non ABS one (like mine) or an 07 as they'd dropped the servo assistance by then

Mine's still got a BMW Motorrad Extended Warranty on it untill June 2011 ....... I might let you have that for £7500? :augie

As soon as i've got some pic's sorted Mikeyboy i will let you know when i post it for sale. 06 or 07 without ABS sounds the way to go then thanks for the advice. Can you send me some details of your bike please bikerider who knows there could be a deal to be had?

Whup's it's Nice and Fat selling the bike, it was the computers fault not mine!!

This might help

Not sure info is correct about the ABS
the early/first ABS had a problem
mines a Sept 2006 bike and i think it has the second type of ABS on it
i pay £33.00 per month extended warranty - this is up to 80K i think
ABS is an expensive option that alot of people like/want - so pushing someone to buy a non ABS bike might put some people off when re selling
i know if ever my bike got knicked or trashed i would buy another 2006/2007 bike with this spec
White, ABS,Full BMW warranty - mileage means nothing - any extra bling is a good thing - key thing for me would be how the bike has been looked after - just because a bike has low mileage definatly doesnt mean its better than a high mileage bike
this is what i mean - this is mine with 40k on the clock and running the best its ever been
good luck with what ever bike you buy - deffinatly get someone to give the bike o once over before you dip your hand in your pocket
hope this helps
Gaz :thumb2

I never really understood what the problem was with the servo brakes, I had an 06 GSA with them fitted, it was a bit of a shock to start with but I loved them, I could happily ride with a real light touch on the brakes when needed. I think its just one of those things you get used to - got to be honest I'm missing them now and finding it a little odd being back on a bike without them.

give one a test ride and see for yourself.

cant agree more wait till u got arthritic hands pins and needles on long journeys thats when u will enjoy the servo best

a.b.s/Power 06?

All advice is gratefully received lads, as I've never ridden a bike with any type of abs before I don't have an opinion on it. What's the performance of the early bike's like, as I've read in the talk me into buying one section you need to be aggressive on the throttle to get them moving? What sort of rpm does peak torque and power come in?

Thanks Regards Farmhand.

I find the performance of mine fine , ok its not the same as what im used to coming from sports bikes but the gsa is totally different bike and you use the power different with a bm , theres more than enough power there to do the things you want , as for power/torque i find it pulls the best between 3-5 k :D
