Well done! One of the most useful posts so far for the new bike, and answers a question I had - would the oil cooler grill off my '05 bike fit the '08.

Looks okay to me?!

The oil cooler grill is the one I had on my old bike so it's a straight swap

It will save me some time fitting the GPS, when I actually get into the garage to do it. I also had seen what appeared to be change in the position of the fuel pump electrics and mentioned it elsewhere, but was waiting to get around to exploring and removing the panels to be certain but you have saved me another task. There does appear to be a number of subtle changes over the previous model hopefully for the better.

I saw your other thread on the 'Remus' header pipes, have you fitted these to the 08 bike and if so any tips on fitting them, mine are currently at the polishers and should be back for the weekend. Any tips greatfully received.

I went with the BOS headers his time, fitting is pretty straight forward for wither set juat take the bash plate off to give yourself room and either unplug the sensors from their connection point before refitting them to prevent the cables getting twisted.

I love you guys who get a brand new bike and take it apart straight away. Knowing my luck I'd break all the plastic.

Anyway, would anyone know if the GPS socket on my '09 GS would be suitable for powering a TomTom Rider, assuming I added a BMW plug to my TomTom lead?

Ah well you see the time on my hands was as a result of a didn't see you moment b a twat in a 4 x 4 on the previous bike 2 miles from the dealer as I was going to trade it in for the 08. With cracked ribs and various other things I was'nt able to ride the bloody thing for about 2 months!

... there is also a diagnostic plug coming off the loom with it, but if you remove the the tie wraps securing the plugs it drops into view.

I wondered what that plug was for
