Does anyone know where I can get the colour code for the wheels on my 08 GS. If I cannot get this code the only alternative will be to take a bit of the flaked paint into Halfords and try to match it. If that doesn't work I will have to take the wheel to a boy shop for a complete respray.

Hi there,

I normally use the following site to get some information on the color codes. It doesn't specify the color of the wheels, but I'm guessing it'll be somewhere around magnesium metallic matte. You can contact them and see if they can confirm...

I can check on my Haynes manual when I get back home to see if I have the specific codes. Under the seat you should have the color codes, but I'm not sure if it will specify for the wheels as mostly show the color scheme for the bike itself.

EDIT: After a bit more research, this should do the trick for the wheels:

If the paint is bubbling, you will find the damage extends a lot further than the rough looking areas would suggest. The paint is uber hard, but there will also be unseen bits festering away for later.

I decided the paint on mine had expired so had them chemical dipped and power coated gloss black. The paint is too hard to grit blast without gouging the metal so dipping was the only option.

Cost was £14 per wheel for dipping plus £20 each for powder coat.

Thanks Rami and Bendy toy for taking the time to reply and offering some great advice.
After I posted I went onto Ebay and found a rear wheel with worn out tyre for £136 so I brought that. It came off a 2010 but seller said it will fit 2008, Took a chance on colour as it looks the same in photo.
Given there was another on there for £350 I thought it worth taking a chance on the one I bought.
