100's of email viruses

Are they all from the same place? If so you can block the sender or file them off into a separate folder to be deleted at your leisure.
If they are from different senders (often the way) then you're a bit stuck. Not sure about Norton, but can you tell it to delete automatically?
As far as preventing them being sent - no chance I fear.

Unfortunately they are from different senders. I started blocking them one at a time, but gave up. Looks like I'm buggered until they fizzle out.
By the way, eventually fitted the tobinators after chopping the screen at the front to eliminate the 1150 'wink' bit. Very nice. Looks much better than the standard 1100 screen, but not tested it properly yet.
How much are the reflection bits for the headlight glare ?

Big Lad...sounds like someone in your circle has a virus on their system that's sending itself to everyone in that person's address book......so it'll send itself to all that persons mates- chances are you'll be in that person's book too so it blows up exponentially like a chain letter.....
Might be worth checking with the people you know if they've got protection.
And you can set most AV software to delete it automatically as Tobers said.....but it's worth keeping the advisory notice up so at least you know whats goin on.

I've been getting shitloads of attachment 'files' over the past week or so. Enticingly titled,'the file you wanted' 'here are the pics you wanted', 'thought you'd like this' etc. I must have had 50/60+ emails.
I also got a really cunning one .........
dear lineone (and a seperate NTL one) user.
we're worried about your security. Please read the attached file ...blah, blah,blah.............the NTL one said my account had been suspended and i needed to read the security file

I use a programe called mailwasher, it allows you to view you mail on its server, it spots possible virus and spam and only down load the mail you want, you can set up filters and black ists and friends list. It is available a test then registaration is a one off fee of £19.
you can also bounce e-mails with this prog
I moderate a couple of forums so people allways sign me up for porn sites etc mailwasher is available as a trail from http://www.firetrust.com

Yeah the recent virus's have caused a few even onto mailing lists.
Check the e-mail (do not open the attachment). If it has an unsubscribe you may have a chance to reduce the number.
If not then wait a bit to see if it will reduce by its own accord but do not hope for a lot... I have one hotmail account that I keep active periodically checking to see if has been reduced but after almost 12 moths there are still 80 per month.....

BAAAAAD idea........they know it's a live address then.....best to ignore it completely and delete unopened.

If the unsubscribe is a US site or a US company it will work. The recent SPAM laws if the US have made a change in that area. Go to the unsubscribe page and most will make reference to the US Laws.
I have tested this out over the past month with one of my dead hotmail accounts. Since using the unsubscribe the number of spam e-mails with an unsubscribe link have reduced to a fraction and there has been a small reduction in the others.
Yes, prior to the US SPAM laws it was a risk thing to do but less so now. But the laws do not remove all risk
