Hi everybody - I'm new to the forum and have been lurking for a while.

I have just removed the lower shock mount on my '95 1100GS to lube and inspect the bolt/bushing whilst in the process of tracking down the mystery clicking noise.

It all looks OK except for the fact that the yellow peril (Haynes) manual mentions the two washers on each side of the mount that you mustn't forget, but I don't have.

Either they have been discarded by some long-forgotten numpty or were at some point deemed unnecessary - question is, which?

And does it matter?

A call to your local dealer or Motorworks Motobins should clear up any query/updates bearing in mind:-

Washers shown on parts diagram above with the front shock

Although part 7 washers are not listed with a part no Spooky eh !

What clicking noise?

My 1100 had one of these when I first bought it, if the handlebars were turned to full lock.

It turned out that the allen screws securing the fork bridge to the sliders were loose. Easily nipped-up, and clicking gone.

May not be the cause of your clicking, but worth a look.

Thanks Old Codger - doh! should have thought of that!

justabof and Steptoe - I'll check those. I only hear it when I'm trundling in 1st on a bumpy surface, there's no association with steering lock as far as I can tell.
