Can anyone help me please? I usually ride along 40mph dual carriageways in London but need to take my bike around the M25 on Saturday. Speedo cable has just broken and I want to avoid the overhead cameras so can anyone tell me what revs my bike will be pulling at about 75mph in 5th.
Your advice and help is much appreciated.

Satnav ( even a car one in a plastic bag) will be a far safer bet to avoid the fine etc especially with variable speed limits :nenau

5000rpm, in 5th is 90mph

will check tomorrow it might depend on final drive and gear box if diffrent

Thank you for checking tomorrow. The gearbox and final drive are standard as far as I know.

No way of fixing sat nav to bike so that option is out.

And I'll not take her up to 5000revs in 5th!

I have one. Mine pulls indicated 70mph at 4000rpm in 5th but I know from riding with a satnav that the speedo reads about 5mph fast at that speed. So if you stick to 4000rpm max you should be fine. Scaling tells me that an indicated 60mph would be 3400 rpm, 50 would be 2850rpm and 40 would be 2300rpm. Good luck!

done 75 mph @ 4.4K rpm just short of the 4.5 k by the width of the needle
5k rpm was about 85 mph

all speeds were taken from speedo

Everyone - thanks for the information and taking the time to help me out. 👍I'll be much more relaxed now tomorrow morning. Cheers.
