I have just come from a Pan European to a GS and am very dissapointed with the headlamp beam, compared to the Honda; both on dipped and full.

Any advice on uprating the bulb, anyone ?

Eat more carrots, or use the seach tab and spend the rest of Christmas reading. :)

Fitting 2 x H1 50% brighter bulbs makes a big difference. You might also adjust the dipped beam up slightly with the thumbwheel adjuster. Other than that you are looking at a HID kit or a set of lights slung under the beak. Look at Nippy Normans or search for the thousands of threads in this forum talking about spotlights. "MiGSel light bar" is a good one to search for.

Tried the carrots as a kid - I wear contact lenses now - so much for that advice !

Cheesy Mike - I like your suggestion better - except the new HID sounds expensive ! Just been on the Touratech website looking at £100 (per side) side lamps, mmmmm nobody told me BMW's were expensive !! LOL!

Touratech - expensive bollocks.

Nippy Normans - less expensive. All-in kit for just £99.

Halfords Ring spotlights, MiGSel light bar, an autoswitch, a fuseholder, some wire and a couple of relays and you can do it yourself - but still probably not for much less than £100.

Halfors spots are the way to go.

Fit them on a simple bar to save money on the MiGSel (The MiGSel is very nice)

Save even more money by wirring the relay straight of the main beam.

Then fit 50% plus bulbs for that litle extra.

This is the cheapest route... and it's proven.

If you want to view this budgett set up I'm in StAlbans
