Hi, can you get a lockable metal version of the plastic standard one fitted to the bike? :nenau. If so are they watertight. I’m sure I’ve seen one in the past but can’t honestly remember! :blast
I’d like one to replace mine cos I have no intention of having my rear seat on. I’d use the flat part to put my tent / roll bag across it and the panniers too.
Ta.

Rugged Roads do one

The original plastic one is adequate though and locks in place, with an adapter contained in the toolbox below
BMW think of everything

Yes and No (AFAIK), however the (coated steel? stainless?) one I have completely covers the tray and I've never had water in.

I’ve used one of these for years. Never had any issues with water getting past it and the original plastic tray cover, even parked outside on the sidestand in pouring rain...

Hard to find now, as they’re discontinued

Just make sure they're clicked down hard.....

Yes I HAVE seen one come adrift at 80mph+ and scythe through the group of following bikes at head height.......

One of the funniest things I've ever seen. :D
