OK, so I'm pretty sure that my Hall Sensor has packed up.

The bike just stopped running, and I've got fuel, compression and a spark so, from asking and reading around, I think I've narrowed it down to the Hall Sensor.

Great :thumb

Problem is, I have no idea even where to find this, let alone how to change it. I tried to find a tutorial but couldn't see one.

From the few pics I've seen it doesn't look too difficult :nenau

Can anyone help me out with this - or should I leave well alone and get it towed to to a garage who know what they're doing? :D

If you've got fuel and a spark that means the hall sensor is sending a signal as it should do.

it must be timing if he's got the other 3

unless the fuel's bad.

or the compression is down on both cylinders at the same time suddenly :mmmm

or the spark doesn't spark under compression on both cylinders atthe same time suddenly.

i'm guessing he's run out of fuel :thumb :D

That's good to hear, as I've got both. Still can't figure out why my injectors aint firing though...

You say you've got fuel, Shiannini, are your injectors actually firing? Just curious...

Dave.

Hi Steptoe.

Well you haven't got fuel then have you ???????????????

Depends on the definition, I suppose; I've got fuel feeding to the injectors by the pump, the injectors just ain't squirting. Got me baffled, which I admit isn't difficult...

Dave.

Mates 1100 failed in Switzerland, was squirting fuel, also had spark, we had no idea what was wrong, but it was a failed Hall Sensor, replaced at HUGE cost at a local Swiss dealers :thedummy

This is the web page I wrote afterwards on how to replace a failed hall sensor (2av54)
http://www.ebbo.org/2av54.php

When Mr Hager produced his (first?) version (link on earlier post) it was remarkably similar to mine in many ways, and he claims copyright!… cheeky monkey! Still, mustn’t grumble, his does go in to more detail, and we’re all supposed to be work for the common good…

Immobiliser?

Don't know if the Hall Sensor also controls injectors - I guess it's possible but I don't know enough about them...
