I bought an OE BMW metal tubular headlight guard for my GSA.

I then ordered the lock pins (clip on mount) from Motorworks...

So far, so good...

However, when the upper pins are located into the silver clock cover panel, the clip on mounts don't line up with the 'guard.

I took the silver panel off, and without it the 'guard lines up ok, so it seems like the silver panel has the the holes in the wrong place.

Can anyone shed any light on this

You can slacken off the bolts that hold the spring cups that snap on to the round topped fasteners (Giving some adjustment or play). When you find the position that works soft Loc tite the bolts in .. Just an Idea mate.

If it falls of bounces up and smashes someones windscreen causing a multiple pile up dont blame me .... ! .......:drool

Or ......... take it off and put it on ebay as its feck all use ..... :thumb2

Kinda weird, this...

I swopped the silver panel over the clocks with one from a a GS (not an Adventure) and the guard then fitted perfectly... :thumb2

Problem solved - but I'm none the wiser as to why the two seemingly identical parts are infact different
