On my standard GS seat I found that I slid forward and ended up sitting on the narrowest part of the seat. It was starting to become a bit of a nuisance, so I decided to try to make my own modification to eliminate the problem.
I got a friend to make stainless steel spacers to fit under the front seat locators. He made me a pair at 6mm thickness and a pair at 10mm.
It took just five minutes to fit the 10mm spacers and replace the seat. As I am fairly tall, I have the seat in the highest position, but the spacer made very little difference to the seat height.
The difference when riding the bike is noticeable straight away, in that I find myself sitting back on the wider part of the seat and the problem of sliding forward has been eliminated.
