Thanks westcoaster that does look a nice gs il try again to find it on fb scotland.
Think i have been persuaded to stay with 1150 i do like the fact they are easy to work on and no fancy bits to complicate things.
Good question, the GS seems a bit ordinary after the GSA - I like the elevated riding position, just seems more of an 'event' to ride (to me). In fact, I'd prefer the GS gearbox - the low first has no benefits (for me) and I'd prefer the longer sixth of the GS for touring.

I quite like the low first but I'd prefer to the keep the GS's longer 6th. But I quite agree regarding the riding position. I find the single seat more useful on longer trips too for being able to adjust your position.
The screen is much better to don't you find?
Even with a larger screen on the GS, the wider wings of the GSA screen make motorway cruising a more comfortable affair.
After years of 1150gsa ownership I recently tried an 1150gs. I'd owned one years ago and thought I'd prefer the longer sixth. It is better on motorways but worse on As and Bs. From that test, I'm happier with the gsa, but it will depend on the routes you ride and how you ride them.
I've recently bought a 1200 GSA after owning an 1150 GS for a year or so.
I like the smooth Power and better Braking on the 1200 but the 1150 is still a great Bike and has more Character for me.
I was advertising it for sale but it seems that it's worth bugger all in the scheme of things so I'll keep it as a Winter Ride.
As others have said, it's such a simple, straightforward Machine to Service and Maintain, it almost takes me back to my old "Jump on and Ride" Moped Days...
