Bits started failing on mine before 20k. Have failed reasonably steadily ever since. Now at 90k, cosmetically challenged (to say the least), but I have had no more grief in the last 20k than I did in the first 20k.

I have a 2000 single spark non abs 1150gs with 50,000mls on it ..........only replacing consumables so far
it had new disks and the alternator belt done when I bought it,dealer gave me a new batt too.
absolutely no intentions of changing it ,great bike!
