Just had my 12,000 mile service on the Dakar and it set me back £370 - they did do the front brakes and an instrument light as well, but seems very steep - any ideas what this service normally costs other people?

Where did you have it done Stuart?

Hmmm - not sure I want to incriminate them, as I didn't complain at the time, and it doesn't really seem fair to name and shame if there might not be any shame to name! It was a BMW dealership in London though - which narrows it down a little... If the standard service is £249, then an extra £100 or so for the labour on finding the bulb and changing the pads - both of which can be a little fiddly - doesn't sound too bad. I think I might be back to my little local independent dealership next time though!

An inspection at 12000 at our place is £249 with no other work...
Does that include checking and adjusting valve clearances?

look at the two different locations and the huge difference in overhead costs between the two. You can't compere prices

The cost of servicing a Dakar is higher than the cost of servicing any of my cars. The Dakar seems to be just really expensive. Such a requiring telecopic fluids changing annually.
