How quickly would you really find out? I mean the plug is deep in there, with a long stick coil stuffed in on top of it and then a plug cover to boot.
In reality, you'd have to keep checking. So how long will it have been loose by the time your next check comes around?

What i'm saying is 12 NM will be fine you wont need to keep checking, you will know soon enough if it comes loose as you will lose compression. But Im doubting that will ever happen.
My old boat used to have a 5.8 litre V8 351 Ford Cobra engine the spark plug holes had a bevelled edge for the plugs to seat against there was no need to try and crank them in tight as they would only go so tight, so giving them a 1/4 turn to nip them up once tight was enough, they never came loose.
