Hello,
I have lurked for months and now...I have a question...
I have a 1200GS which is about 7 months old and I have done about 10000 miles on it. It is my first bike ever (except for..... Vespas
sorry), anyway I took to Spain over the new year fully loaded with backpack etc, and after a few days freezing to death in the Picos mountains the clutch started slipping whenever I applied fullpower at speed, going from 4th to fifth etc
It happened consistently and the only way to avoid it was to apply the power very gently (very frustrating!) Anyway I have taken it to BVM in Stroud who said to me 'It doesnt look like the clutch has been slipping much, and we cant find anything else wrong with it, and they said they couldnt make it slip before they dismantled it - and to be fair neither could I on the motorway while I was on the way to the shop.
They have said they are going to replace the clutch plate and thought it might have been the hand gaurd interfering with the lever (I would definately have noticed this because it was so annoying I checked the free play on the lever). They havent said whether or not they are doing this under warranty now they have not found a problem...I forgot to ask.
Anyone else suffered from this or got any ideas what might have caused it?
Its blue with proper wheels by the way.
Cheers
