Before I take a day off to go to my nearest dealer for a diagnostic, anyone had the cough/splutter symptoms when putting the engine under load (ie overtaking). The bike seems to not want to respond to large throttle movements at all.

I've put a new plug coil on what I thought was a dodgy one, but it didn't change a thing.

Anyone any ideas?

I had the same thing twice now, turned out to be a dodgy plug each time :nenau
I only had it the once but it was also caused by a dodgy plug.

Thanks guys - but did you mean spark plugs or plug coils, please?

Plugs on mine :thumb The dealer tried changing the coils at the time with no success, then back with the original coils and new plugs all was OK :thumb

Ok, will try new plugs this weekend and let you know!

I did a bit of testing on the plug coils, swapping a new one at all 4 positions to find out if there was a dodgy one of those. No change! It was tricky to get the lead to connect on a straight coil for the underneath sparkplugs, but I managed it by taking the tywraps off the leads on the right cylinder, slaving in the new coil (just reached) and when it came to checking the left cylinder I swapped that coil over to the right (and noticed that they are handed, just to make it even trickier) as the leads on the left cylinder did not reach to a straight coil.

4 new spark plugs overnighted from James Sherlock fitted Saturday morning then bike taken out for a ride - resut - instant success, thanks guys. :clap
