1200 Gs Aluminium panniers

Do the 1200 GSA panniers mount straight onto the 1200 GS mounting points, or do they have a seperate extra frame?

Also can anyone advise me of the total width of the 1200 with the BMW ally panniers fitted please?

GSA panniers 980mm wide fitted (I've just been out to the garage).

Narrower than the handlebars

As for mounting, I know it can be done but I think you need an extra "bit". Someone will along to advise more accurately than me

you need the mounting rails. £270 from BMW IIRC.

Narrower than the bars, but wider than the cylinders as I found out while riding out of the bike shed at work.

Pretty tough though.
