1200 GS TE LC (2016) - wonder wheel issue

Hi,

R1200 GS TE LC (2016). None-TFT cluster.
The wonder wheel (Multi controller) on my bike has developed an issue.
The scroll (twist forward and backward) are working fine, so does pressing the wheel closest to the clutch lever (back), but nothing happens when I press the wheel closest to me toward the horn button.
I have tried several devices including a couple of ones I have borrowed and are factually known to be good.

Is the controller serviceable or am I looking at replacing it?

It seems a bit odd that just one of the 4 options has stopped working.

Exactly this happened to mine (2015 GSA) and I replaced it which is a very simple job. Pretty sure it's not serviceable.

Yes and no, you can strip and refurb the switches, but they may not work

New unit isn't cheap lol

I have yet to find anything cheap for a GS (unless it’s made of Chineseium).

It won't harm to take the wheel apart and give it all a good clean, then make sure your sat nav cradle contacts are good and clean.
I had this problem years ago, I'm sure I solved it with an update to the garmin 5

I did have a look at taking it apart, but instead, I bit the bullet and bought a new one from a well known BMW parts supplier. Very easy to fit and confirmed that mine was on it's last legs. Only took about 20 minutes to fit.
