Just thought i'd notify anybody who is interested that I have recently had a Spyball Cat 1 Alarm fitted to my GS1200. There are no problems with it "interfering" with the Can-bus and it works very well.
So now as well as the standard Engine imobiliser there are an additional two circuits imobilised and of course if the remote is kept separate to the key another level of security is added. Plus if you don't use BMW insurance you should get a discount from the other insurers.
I originally wanted the Meta which is fitted to our 650GS but it was a very tight fit. Found that the Spyball fits nicely into the plastic tub area where the toolkit lives. Some plastic had to be removed from the tub so some of the dead space underneath was used. The bonus is that the toolkit will still fit on top of the alarm. We also looked at the Datatool but the Spyball fitted the best.
If anybody is interested it was fitted by Peter Mouncer of Target Technology Mobile: 07976 166152. He did a super job, very neat and took the time to resolve the Meta not quite fitting.
