I have a problem where my 2006 1200 GSA wont turn the engine off at the key I guess the switch is full of water unless there is a possibility for the key barrel to disconnect with the switch
I stopped the engine with the switcn on the handlebar and disconnectrd the battery
firts problem I've had with the 1200 easily sorted in the short term by getting the trusty 1150 out

any one else had this problem

Had the same on a 650 twin, at the bottom of the ignition barrel AFAIK there's a switch that is meant to turn the electrics on / off and if it fails in the on position you can start the engine up, and take the key out without it stopping. About 1/2 an hour job to replace IIRC.

When it happened to me the Mondial people came out, sprayed a load of WD40 down the barrel and it worked, till they were out of sight :blast

Try spraying ACF50 down th barrel. If it is a water problem this would probably fix it.
