£11,750 (Possible) for the HP2. Is it worth it?

Help! I'm having sleepless nights. I've fallen in love with the HP2.
I currently own a Blue & White 1150. which I purchased to go touring on. Three months later the girlfriend tells me she's pregnant. Resulting in no touring (I haven't the courage to tell her I'm going without her). So I'm left with weekend rides the my mates. The big question is: Is it worth that amount of money?
Would I be mad to sell a bike I like (If a little heavy) to get into dept again! Am I selfish. Wanting to spend yet more money on a bike. While the girlfriends at home looking after our daughter?
I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Kids are expensive!

If you've plenty of spare cash get it... you can always sell it later on if you have too. Yes you'll take a kick in the nuts with depreciation but you'll have had a laugh and lifes too short.

Or wait till someone else has to sell and kick them in the nuts :D

I might just have to wait and kick them in the nuts!
Or
Sell the kid!
I'm forever playing catch up!
I finally get an R80GS, just when Bmw to bring out the new generation boxer. Then I get the R1150GS, just before they bring out the 1200GS!
Lifes a bitch!

In my opinion it is not worth it, simply for one reason: it is a cheaper version r1200gs for more money.

Wait for a year and buy the KTM superenduro, I bet it will do the offroad staff better than the BM, it will be lighter and £3,000 cheaper.

And the HP2 isn't exactly a Touring bike...

but...

Boy it will be fun off road!:D

Yeah, but it sure look's cool!
I know it's not practical, and I know it's bloody expensive.
Will I sell my soul to the Devil for a bit of fun.........Damn right!
Am I rich.....I wish
Am I stupid.....At times! (This could be one of them!)
I'll strap a petrol can to the back and wear a rucksack when touring!

Hi,

I found that I did not mind (well, not too much) giving up my toys when I started to have a family. Kids are a lot of fun, (and money).

If you want a new bike, do it now and get the bike you want.

Once you get into the family thing, its hard to find the money for nice toys.

GS Johnny,
You would be much better to stick with what you have got, a good reliable machine, keep the cash for Mothercare you will need it!
good luck,
Barrie.

Thanks for the advice guy's,
That's the trouble with wanting something. Common sense go's out the window!
And, yes. You are both right. The trouble is, I've nearly convinced the girlfriend that it all make's sense!!!!
I'll wait for the road test's in the mag's. Or maybe I'll come to my senses and be happy with what I've got. The 1150 is a great bike and, yes, Mothercare is expensive!
Cheers
