need to know if a vario top box expands enough to hold full face lid? looking at one on flea bay at mo,thanks in advance

What it holds depends on the size of your swede rather than the make of helmet because they all will have similar thicknesses of foam to pass the test.. My Schuberth Concept helmet wouldnt fit in the top box.

hi claw,having just sold my gsa with alu panniers,a full face lid fits easily in side boxes and also in top box,i used a side box as a top box all the time

Am I right in believing that the later boxes had the rear mount modified which intrudes into the box more than the earlier ones..(They don't fall of so easiliy now though!!)

My Shoei raid II just fits if you put it in right - on its side, top facing backwards so the curve is over the new attachment protrusion into the box. You still need to flex the lid a bit
My girlfriend's nominally smaller-size HJC something or other won't fit.
I used to have the older box and it was much easier to fit hats in - but it was cracked and likely to fall off. I would not even consider buying off ebay unless it was the latest design. I believe there have been three designs at least. I never saw the middle one, but I would never put my passport in the first design, dirty pants maybe, but not something I wanted to keep.
