1200GS Dash Arrows on fuel and temp

I have been hesitant to post this question for fear of - "what an idiot - didn't you read the book".

Anyway here goes - 2008 GSA dash - what are the arrows for which appear on the fuel (2 off) and temp gauges (1 off)?

I only have one arrow on the fuel and its reserve and the temp is max temp or are you on about different arrows?

Aha. It's not just me...

I used to have two plips on the fuel gauge, but one went away after a reflash - I almost thought I'd imagined it, as I'd never seen anything documented.

I always figured the top one was the half-way point and the bottom was reserve; the top moved around depending on level.

Of course, as I say, I reflashed and wound up with the one for reserve only so it ceased being an issue. But, if a datapoint helps...
