1200GS gearbox?

Can anyone confirm if there are any changes to the early gearboxes fitted to the 04/05 models as those now fitted to the 06 model? Or if replacement gearboxes being fitted under warranty are in any way improved ?

I was told the only difference is minor external changes to the casing. The internals are the same.

It just has me thinking with so many reports of gearbox problems (mine included) no mods have been done?

300 mile run round Wales yesterday and the gearbox is getting worse. Me thinks I'll leave the bike alone now until new box arrives?

It could be your clutch. The clutch manufacturer has definitely been changed following numerous clutch problems, specifically with weak pressure plates. I had this very thing.

If you have a moving biting point, difficulty changing down and general graunching, get it in to BMW and ask them to put the new make clutch in under warranty.
