I originally put this in the F800GS thread, but guess that some tossers won't lower themselves to look in the 'Baby Bike Brigade Blog' :augie

I also guess that the idea might be of some use ...

Heavy snow outside, so made these today

The BMW alloy panniers for the F800GS/1200GSA don't have any carry handles... they're a hand full without

These work a treat and can quickly and easilly be removed if needed

The strapping used is what secured the 650's in their crates when delivered to the dealers. Push bike innertubes widely available :augie

Tomorrow you'll want a yoghurt carton, an egg box and two toilet paper cardboard tubes ready

Great idea!

This is a great idea. I guess you could also use them to strap items to the top of the panniers as well.

The question is how much???

Cheers

I got the dealer to chuck in a set of carry handles with the bike, but those are a cheap and cunning alternative nonetheless.

However, in true BP-stylee, where's the one you prepared earlier? :D

Your friendly BMW dealer should have some straps FOC ;) The green ones you see aren't available now, they used to come with the F650 singles until recently. They're much softer material than the later white ones used these days, narrower too :thumb

They have a super alloy sliding grip arrangement, very secure and released with a press of the thumb.

That should be the only cost if you have to buy the straps. If you make the rubber innertube just long enough to press on the straps at each end, it stops the handle moving sideways

PS DolphiN Tech they are the Mk 2 version

I'd made them, they worked, then thought about the innertube over the handle so went and cadged a punctured one for nowt ... the rest is history so to speak :thumb

Ah, good, I was worrying there for a second :D

neat and cheap..... and they are dual purpose, as was said for strapping things on..
