Spanish Bob said:
Eddy Merckx (cyclist)
Jacky Ickx (formula 1)
Django Reinhardt (jazz musician)
Adolphe Sax (inventor of, well its obvious really)
Georges Simenon (wrote books)
Julio Cortázar (also author, family Argentinian, but actually Belgian) (remember blow up?)
Rene Magritte (Painter)
Peter Breughel (very good painter)
Hieronymous Bosch (very very good painter)
Peter Paul Rubens (painted fat birds)
Audrey Hepburn (gorgeous, professionally)
Mannequin piss (stone with small penis)
Jean Claude Van Dumb (is he Belgian?)

I'm impressed....I've been here almost 10 years and never heard of half of these people. Are you perhaps a closet Belg ? :D

You forgot Marc Detroux ( infamous paedophile murderer )

Should be good I'll come and watch. I could do with sourcing some cheap spare parts :D

Possible date would be Thursday - Friday 28-29 April 2005.

Camping in the near is possible. The idea would be camping all together there, with fire in the evening, some beers, bbq, etc.

Let's say: a really GS-event, but in stead of mud-diving, track-riding. The best thing about the GS is his polyvalence, and not only his off-road-qualities.

What would you think about it guys?

Oh yes!

Track days are the dogs nadjers.

Any dates and rules yet?

Sometime in May perhaps? Then I'm off on a lap of France afterwards.

Skippy.

Fancy the idea. Any chance of a date coinciding with the Le mans motogp as will be in France at this time.

Another (in)famous Belgian..............

Which leaves that first sign of things to come: Schuey's amazing trip to 7th on the grid. And poor Bert Gachot's claim to fame is that he catered for it by his own stupidity, as effectively he was sitting on a time bomb all through his Jordan campaign. Around the time of this testing shot he got himself involved in one of those urban traffic incidents that can send emotions running up to sixth gear in no time. Except that this wasn't your ordinary traffic incident. Far from being graceful in defeat, Gachot got out of his car in anger and shot from the hip, spraying his adversary - a London taxi driver by the name of Eric Court - in the eyes with a CS gas canister he had lying about in the car. As could be expected, the cabbie did not take this lightly, in tears though he was. In fact, Mr. Court took Bert to court.

While the summer gradually went past and the court case was coming up, everyone was expecting Bertrand to get away with a fine. But as said canisters are illegal in the UK and as he was probably the same Francophone bastard in court as he was in his contretemps with the plaintiff, he was sentenced to six months of imprisonment. Yes, he was sent to jail! A Grand Prix driver! Certainly no case of class justice there…

Hi.

I have tried to contact this guy about the dates and prices ect but I have not had a reply from him yet.

I have been on his web site www.eybis.com and looked at his calendar and he has 30th may to 31st may marked in at this track but I aint sure that it's for this thread.

Have a look and see what you think, it looks a good track and a decent location to have a few days away.

Regards.

Hi,

On 30-31 Mai 2005, I was the only one on a GS @ the magnificent track of Mas du Clos:

I was also the only one who made the trip from Belgium to the center of France with my motorcycle.

On my next event on 18-19 August 2005, there will be at least already two R 1200 GS's... a Dutch Guy - Ron 1200 - and myself (Belgian).

This time, the event is again for all kind of motorcycles, but I still dream of organising a "1st European GS-Trackday"... how could we gather enough compatriots?

Any suggestions?

Cu on track!
