1st motorcycle specific radar warning system via GPS

Does anybody have any experience of the INFORAD detectors, if they are any good then surely a complete bargain.

Well, the motorbike unit is not yet available (next month). For the rest, it's just a GPS, so not much that can go wrong.

I think they've sold a large number of car units though, specially considering their low price.

Nice find Mike.......at that price (135 oooowohs) it's flippin good......particularly with a year of updates free.

I like the simplicity as well.....that light on a stalk could easily go up the side of the screen and point towards you.......:thumb

  Bugger!!!

Just found out who supplies it

I've just picked up a car unit from Wolworth. Thought it worth a go before considering the bike specific offering. One of the options I liked best is it's ability to warn you if you exceed a pre-determined speed. I think I prefer this in town compared to "dodging" cameras..... We'll see.

I'm updating it's database now....

Isn't it easier to simply travel at the posted limit and enjoy riding your bike ? These detectors are often too sensitive, aren't fullproof and don't detect speed devices like vascar anyway.

Good points Dave.

I guess it depends on what you want. If you want a foolproof device you can rely on to keep you from being caught out, you'll be spending a fortune hunting down the device or combination of devices that get you as close to your nirvarna as possible (and probably not actually getting there).

Apart from enjoying a gadget I like the idea of having something supporting my effort to ride/drive legally. Despite my best intentions I have to admit that my speed ocaisionally creeps up (without criminal intent) in a 30, 40 or 50 limit area, and it would be a shame to get stung as a result.

Sure Vascar could still be a stumbling block, but I've just reduced the options?

I like to think i'm intuitive enough to be able to stick closely enough to the speed limits (if i choose to) with the aid of that carefully researched device provided by BMW... the speedo :D

Working on the basis that if i'm not competent enough to use it well enough to stick to a limit of my choosing, perhaps i shouldn't be riding at all???

Gadgets are still good fun tho.... i'm just bitter coz i can't afford one!! LOL

:D

Okay, you got me. I got it purely for the gadget angle!!

:o

But I like it a lot... and will be interested to see the bike version.
