2 days across France

I'll be riding a 2 dayer from Basel area to Plemet in Brittany later this month roughly following this route http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sad...l=47.746711,2.702637&spn=3.841552,14.0625&z=7 trying to avoid tolls and taking the twisty way round. Anyone got any suggestions for a camping spot halfway along and roads to ride along or 'must see' along the way would be most welcome.

Auxerre has a good Camping Municipal. The short stretch or road between Avallon and Auxerre is nice.

It isn't near halfway, but you could make it halfway by dipping south from Basle and taking in the Jura mountains a bit more.

Good suggestion Robin, I rode about halfway along your route then headed Northwest along the D950 towards Montargis, this road was a good mixture of back country road and near Alps like hairpins through forests and beautiful countryside and small French villages. Well worth it.
