Saw loads of these while we were camping in France. Looks ideal for nice weather camping although packing down to an 80cm disc not good for the bike :D

2 second erection indeed :-D

We've got two of these and use them often. If we're going on a long camping trip, we take the big frame tent. These are great for weekend trips and the like though, but as has been mentioned, not good for transporting on the bike. If you've got a car with big bootspace, chuck them in and enjoy. We've had ours for over a year, and they've been used at least 10 seperate trips. No problems with zips, seams, ties, etc, so they seem to be ok from that point of view.

2 second erection sound familiar, but I don't know about the tent.

Thanks gents, the size shouldn't be too much of a problem, I've a top-box
that should do the trick.
The easy erection is what I was looking for. :augie

You must have a pretty big top box to fit an 80cm diameter tent in/on it
the width of my GS bike with Vario Panniers fitted is about 80cms.

Have to admit they look good tents and have read some great reviews about them on the web today. I note on their web site http://seconds.quechua.com/EN/main.html that they do a 2 second lite version which fold to 65cm diameter. They don't seem to be easily available in UK. Where did you order yours from?

Cheers Iain

If its just for solo use, consider the 1 second tent. It sleeps 1 1/2 people (i.e adult and child) but is only 57cm diameter. i was in decathlon a couple of weeks ago in france and they were only 24 euros (reduced from 29). weighs only 2.4kg.

?

These are NOT transportable on a bike. They'd become a huge spolier. They fold into a huge, (near 3 foot in diameter) disc type bag, which I can't get into the boot of a VW Golf, never mind a motorbike topbox. They do indeed come from Decathlon. Dunno about over there, but they do mail order over here.

I think I've seen similar tents in 'Blacks' camping shops. Great idea, but WAY too big for the bike. If quick erection is your thing then how about Khyam tents, the 'Eiger' is a great tent and easily fits on the back of a bike, pitches in 2 mins:)

WIND FORCE

. .just don't get caught inside a 2 second tent in a gale o wind or even a half a gale - no stability

It's the 57cm diameter tent I ordered, I copied the wrong ad. I have a
"MASSIVE" alu topbox that I'll modify to take the tent and a self inflating
matress. Will post pics when I get the box finished.:thumb2
