2000 R1 5JJ

Despite how much I enjoy the R1100GS I keep this tucked away for the occasional summer run. Headed out with my old man a few weekends ago when the sun was out.

I’ve never ridden the modern equivalent but this 2000 model is excellent!

I had a 4XV and it was still incredibly capable despite being old hat alongside the latest super bikes.

I had a ‘99 Model on a T plate. I had minor event with a SMIDSY driver which hurt it badly….
When I put it back together I powder coated the frame black and put ‘01 bodywork on it…
Hard to think early R1’s are classic bikes (over 25 years old)
